Re: Anyone getting or beating invoice? [chiro2007]

I got my splash guards, wheel lock, trunk tray and rear bumper applique "thrown" into the car. My price was: Sale Price: $27541.24 (includes destination fee) Doc Fee: $150 (capped in IL) Tax(7%): $1938.37 (I am from IN) County Tax: $15 (cook county tax) (legit from my research) IL 7-day permit: $10 (given 2 weeks though, for the price of one ) (legit charge) Based on the sale price alone, this is $995 below invoice, not including the items thrown in. This is for an 09 V6 Accord SDN w/ navi. I know jb_turner is going to say care only about the OTD price, but for a person with 7% tax rate, I would be paying around $29600 OTD, therefore, would this deal be considered worse than the VA deal? Therefore, always negotiate the Sale price and the doc fee as the rest of the fees are usually legit

I just can't believe that there are that many people with "hot pants" who run out and buy a car without any research. How does this surprise you? Most people have no idea who the current vice president is? You also forget, there is a "large" segment of people who are payment buyers. They couldn't tell you the cost of the car or the interest rate - all they know is they bought that car for $275 per month (and probably 72 months - but they don't realize that). I don't blame anyone for this....it's just how people are.

It's not a false report. At best it is completely dishonest, at worst it is false (unless you live in or near 90210). You even said it was to create a false market price. So if you print one out using a 90210 zip code the value of the car will be higher then if you printed it our with a local Chicago zip code. Tricks of the trade. And you wonder why after being presented with such "tricks of the trade" customers act so badly towards you and your profession. It's not my sandbox...I'm just playing in it. While true you still choose to play in it.

We overprice our vehicles by 3-4K on EVERY SINGLE UNIT. Wait, you admit that you overprice your cars, then you get upset when an informed customer sees that and leaves? :confuse: More and more I lean towards siding with that guy that asked about the Lexus.

This guy didn't even know it was a hybrid Lexus 400h but that's besides the point. That begs the question, how do you know he didn't know?
