2006 HUMMER H3 4dr SUV 4WD (3.5L 5cyl 5M)
Review
I have owned BMW, Mercedes, etc. over the years. The Hummer has provided me with the most fun that I have even had in a vehicle. It is fun to drive, comfortable, and a real attention getter. I bought it as a second vehicle, but I have not driven my other car over one or two times since bringing this baby home. My 11 y.o absolutely loves it.
Favorite Features
The looks, the comfort, overall a really great vehicle.
Suggested Improvements
a little more power would help.
Best mid size SUV on the road

Review
I purchased my H3 in July, got to use my GM employee discount. I have been on road and off road with it with no problems what so ever. Fuel economy could be better but not bad for its size and weight. I still get a lot of questions from people about it every day. I tell them it is fun to drive and will get another one when my lease is over in 2 years.
Favorite Features
The size, it is just right for every day use
Suggested Improvements
More power from the 5 cyl. engine is planed for 2007 model.
H3: The new KING of HUMMER

All in all, Excellent Vehicle. Perfect curves, looks sharp with chrome package (a must), Interior is clean and smooth with nice features and solid, luxury look. The ONLY Con is the power. I beleive Hummer would have done much better with an engine similiar to the V8 in the impala with auto valve shutdown. The 5cyl. was a good idea, but the 4700 pounds of weight stress the engine. A larger engine would have yielded more power and probably better gas value. The car's design, riding performance, and look more than make up for the underpowered engine. I give this car an 8.5 out of 10 rating. I have had the H3 for 2 months and I must say....I LOVE IT!
Favorite Features
Exterior design
Suggested Improvements
Hmmm. Guess.....The engine power. Either add a turbo, or put a small V6 or small block V8 with auto valve shut-off(as in the new Impala).

I purchased this vehicle in May of 2006 and am enjoying it. I have taken it to DC to a ball game and to Nags Head for a vacation (got to pull a Ford out of the sand). It is surprisingly powerful, agile and fun. I had no problems in the sand and I saw several 4x4 pickups stuck. Fuel economy runs with the Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute, etc. Size is not bulky, but manueverable. Only holdback - I got GM supplier pricing and GM will not allow any points built up on GM card to be used. Because of this I will never purchase another GM vehicle, but the H3 is a smart buy for the person who wants 4 wheel drive, a good looking vehicle, avg fuel mileage and one of a kind fun!
Favorite Features
Size, true all time 4wd, exterior, grill guard, and the sun roof.

A Great Ride

You won't regret purchasing this. Plenty of room. The pickup speed is not the greatest but what do you expect from a 5 cylinder. Have owned a year with no mechanical probs whatsoever. The fuel economy is great for its size. Use it for on or off road. That's what it is made for.
Favorite Features
The interior design

Door locks are to easy to push in. Took me a while to quit letting my arm push it when exiting vehicle. They need to move them to a different spot
HMMWV with Comfort & Style

Review
The H3 is a great looking vehicle that turns heads. Enough power for what I need it to do, easier on mileage than its big brother and it handles and negotiates as well in parking lot as my wife's Cooper.
Favorite Features
It's shiny black, lot's o' chrome, comfy leather seats, great stero..options the Army didn't give me in the HMMWV I drove in the desert.
Suggested Improvements
I sit tall in the saddle. I need my power seat to go lower so I can see traffic lights without scrunching down to peek up.

Darn Fine Ride

You've read all the raps on this car already. It won't drive like a Porsche while pulling a house and still get 40 mpg. It is what it is; and I like it. It's comfortable to drive, handles reasanably well for a heavy truck, and it does everything I expected it to do. The power is sufficient and reasonably balanced with mpg. Interior cargo space is limited - but it's because of the huge wheel wells for off-road suspension travel. I knew what I was getting in to and I got what I expected. I'm very happy with that.
Favorite Features
Comfort. Locking transfer case, Monsoon sound system, overall looks and feel.
Suggested Improvements
Nothing significant. Supercharger or bigger engine for the power snobs; maybe a little more creature comfort inside - like a tray in the console in front of the shifter.

My H3 has proven to be an awesome car/truck. It carries everything easily - surfboards, dogs, and people. I don't worry about scratching a thing since most of the interior is plastic. It's a fun car to drive and the ride is surprisingly good - quiet, comfortable, and safe. It handles very well and has a great turning radius. Visibility is not as good as an average sedan, but then again, this is not a toyota camry, and I've adjusted to taking an extra second to look before I change lanes. I'll be curious to see if they come out with a diesel or hybrid version given all the backlash about gas prices. Either way, I'm already thinking of buying the next generation of the H3.
Favorite Features
Exterior design, good cargo space, quiet and comfortable ride, large sunroof, on star, great stereo system, good gas mileage for an SUV - badmouthing about poor gas mileage unwarranted
Suggested Improvements
better acceleration, less plastic in the interior, need airvents for backseat passengers
Get it w/ a SUN ROOF- change perceptions

The new H3 is a vehicle I thought I would never be able to afford to own. To some extent the people and co- workers think you have big bucks. Besides expense people also think that its a gas guzzler, however after driving for over 5,000 its better than my '97 Jeep Wrangler, which has a 4 cyl. I have already been approached at the gas station by people that are eager to give me feedback on the fuel issue. I will get asked at least once a week by a total stranger about the H3,they like it. It does get the attention, girls like guys driving them and guys like girls driving them...its a win-win. Wait for good GM incentives. Interior looks are nice, but slightly uncomfortable! Turning radios is A+
Favorite Features
You will never forgive yourself if you don't get the sunroof! It is a big roof & not a huge expense! XM radio is also nice & I love the chrome wheels and apperence package. The two-toned cloth seats, dash &doors brighten up the interior. The DVD screens were free!!! The FAT steering wheel feels good
Suggested Improvements
The floor is high and the seats are low so it is slightly uncomfortable positioning on 2hr+ road trips. Perhaps the leather interior would give you more adjustments. The gas/break pedals are WAY TOO close together. VERY DANGEROUS-Foot gets stuck. GM needs to recall and modify all 2006 H3 and fix.
The Hummer Surprise

Review
I got this Hummer as a birthday surprise from my wife. I drove one of these when I was in the Marine Corps and with very few exceptions this one is much nicer than the military version. It is a comfortable smooth riding truck. It lacks a little bit of power, but it wasn't designed for speed and the lack of power is a good compromise for fuel economy. I love the truck for what it was designed for, its off-road capabilities. Although even if you never take this truck off the payment you can benefit from its capabilities, when driving in rain, flooding, etc.
Favorite Features
Nice interior, stereo system and Hummer exterior design.
Suggested Improvements
Lack of power when going up a bridge. Limited storage space in the front of the cabin.
